Bismil REACTS To Trolls, Negative Comments On Social Media When asked about trolling on social media and how it affects an artist’s mind, Bismil said, “Nahi impact karta hai. Matlab ek-aadh baar hi aisa hua tha mere saath, kyunki main bahut zyada in cheezon mein hoon, nahi ki koi mujhe aise nafrat kare ya troll kare. But ek-aadh baar aisa sabke saath hota hai, mere saath bhi hua tha. Uske baad maine yahi socha tha ki theek hai, woh apne bed par let ke aaraam se message kar rahe hain.” He added, “Toh hum bhi apne bed par aaraam se let ke phone side mein rakh dete hain na. Let them do what they want. Uska dimaag par asar nahi lene ka, kyunki phir uska asar aapke kaam par bhi dikhega. Har cheez par dikhega, toh aapka kaam kharaab hoga. Toh load nahi lene ka. It’s okay, let them do it.” About Social Media Trolling, Negative Comments Social media trolling in Bollywood has evolved into a pervasive culture characterised by intense scrutiny, manufactured outrage, and toxic negativity. High-profile actors routinely face relentless criticism over their public appearances, box-office performances, and private lives, often fueling discussions about paid smear campaigns and coordinated negative PR efforts. Targeted harassment frequently aims to derail projects or tarnish reputations, while online hate campaigns can disrupt box-office success, sometimes biasing audiences against films that are otherwise well-received. Debates surrounding nepotism and industry privilege continue to spark hostile commentary directed at star kids and prominent production houses, and female actors often become targets of sexist remarks regarding their fashion choices, personal lives, or professional associations. In response, many celebs adopt strategies such as letting their work speak and focusing on delivering successful performances. They emphasised the importance of selective detachment, noting that trolling often reveals more about the frustrations of the users than the actors. Some also resort to digital detoxes or deleting their social media accounts altogether, recognising the immense mental health toll of online abuse and prioritising their peace of mind. Now, celebs have chosen to seek legal protection by applying for the protection of privacy in the age of AI.
