Romeo Beckham pulled over by police after scrolling on phone in Porsche

The 23-year-old son of David Beckham and Victoria Beckham was stopped by officers in Westminster last September. A court heard that an officer spotted Beckham looking down at a mobile phone while waiting at traffic lights in his Porsche 911. According to evidence presented in court, the officer first noticed an unsecured dog sitting on the lap of a female passenger before turning his attention to the driver. In a statement, the officer said he observed Beckham with his head tilted down, appearing to look at a phone positioned low near the steering wheel. He added that Beckham appeared to be scrolling on the device with his thumbs while stationary at the lights. Police reportedly offered Beckham the opportunity to avoid prosecution by paying a fine and completing a driver awareness course. However, the court heard he failed to respond to the offer. As a result, the case proceeded through the courts, with Beckham convicted after failing to enter a plea when contacted at his south-west London address. At Westminster Magistrates’ Court last week, magistrates found Beckham guilty of being a driver not in a position to have proper control of his vehicle. He was fined £440 and received three penalty points on his driving licence.
