Why Taylor Swift & Travis Kelce Allegedly Canceled Wedding Plans — & What They're Doing Instead

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce ‘s Rhode Island wedding plans were allegedly canceled in favor of radically different nuptials. According to a June 18 report from TMZ , the change was due to an understandable reason: “We’re told the couple bailed after word got out about the venue.” Just a few months after their dreamy engagement in August 2025 , rumors already started swirling about where the couple would tie the knot . At first, all reports pointed to Rhode Island, where Swift owns a home, on June 13, aka Swift’s lucky number. The wedding, which was initially set to take place in the Ocean House resort, a five-star hotel in Westerly, would be a grand occasion, but still have ties to a place near and dear to Swift’s heart. With that said, however, plans completely changed months later. Per Page Six  and  TMZ  on June 5, the couple changed spots and opted for an even bigger occasion at New York City’s iconic Madison Square Garden on July 3 instead. Now that multiple reports have confirmed MSG as the new location, however, are Swift and Kelce planning a wedding at a third still-undiscovered venue? Or is the security surrounding MSG enough for their peace of mind? Only time will tell. Gregory Shamus/Getty Images In the meantime, Swift and Kelce reportedly just celebrated their pre-wedding and bachelor/bachelorette celebrations . While Kelce was spotted at the exclusive Los Angeles club Bird Streets Club on Wednesday, June 17, alongside his brother Jason Kelce, his Kansas City Chiefs teammate and close friend Ross Travis, and comedian Druski, Swift was having fun on the other side of the country. In a TikTok, which has since been deleted but was reposted on X, a woman who resembles Swift is seen standing on the balcony of her oceanside Rhode Island home in white, with three friends dressed in black. Anderson Berard welcomed a baby in 2025. TMZ also reported an increased security presence at the mansion Swift bought in 2013, including an armed guard by the gate and two other guards with binoculars monitoring the public beach area in front of her home. So, while wedding planning has certainly been bumpy for the couple, the nuptials are finally right around the corner.
